Urbana 47

Urbana 47 matches understated retro decor with a range of traditional dishes and regular buffet options.

Urbana 47, named for its address on Via Urbana in Monti, combines modern touches with low-key and retro furnishings.

The restaurant is furnished by Zoc, a retro store in nearby Via delle Zoccolette, which is owned by the same people. As a result, the furniture in the restaurant is actually for sale, so if you really enjoy the meal, you can take your chair home with you as a souvenir. Urbana 47 also has ties to MagiorDomus, a service that provides home delivery of basic groceries and newspapers.

Highlights of the menu include strachetti with potatoes, and pasta with homemade pesto. It’s worth asking about the specials, as we’ve had some real treats here in the past.

An aperitivo with buffet is available from 6pm (though watch out if you’re feeling peckish; they charge every time you go back for more), and a reasonably priced, high quality brunch buffet is available on Sundays.
