Trattoria Romana Né Arte Né Parte
A relatively new addition to Testaccio dining, Ne Arte Ne Parte nevertheless offers a traditional Roman trattoria experience.
The menu offers the usual range of classic Roman pasta dishes, like pajata and cacio e pepe, along with a decent range of secondi.
The pasta dishes are all reasonably priced at around €7. Rob had their Trofie “Ne/Ne”, served with a tomato, courgette (zucchini), and smoked cheese sauce that tasted like a particularly well-made macaroni cheese. Petu had the spigola, a generous portion of fish served with crisp and tasty potatoes. We shared a dish of very good puntarelle and had coffee, and the total bill came to €31. Not bad, especially given the quality of the food.
The atmosphere at Ne’ Arte Ne’ Parte is friendly but a little disorganised, with service slightly—but not painfully—on the slow side. High ceilings give the venue a sense of space. We’ve read elsewhere that the tables are too close together, but we didn’t find this—maybe we just got lucky with our corner table.
