Reviews of restaurants and guide to eating out in Rome, Italy.

Trastevere

Originally considered a neighbourhood outside of the city centre because of its location (Trastevere literally means “across the Tiber”), today Trastevere is not only considered very central, but it’s also a lively and charming neighbourhood with many typical Roman restaurants.

Because of its popularity, however, Trastevere also has very touristy restaurants and cafés, so our suggestion it to stay away from the main piazzas and try to look for venue located in less crowded streets, where the clientele will be local and much more demanding!
