Ciampini
A beautiful and smart cafe, Ciampini is the perfect stop for a delicious snack, sweet or savoury.
It’s located in one of Rome’s most beautiful piazzas, in the heart of Rome’s shopping area and political district. Due to its position, Ciampini is less known by tourists and is a great place for people-watching (the inside is standing-only, but there’s seating space outdoors).
Try Ciampini in the morning for an amazing capuccino and cornetto, or join the elegant crowds at lunchtime for delicious savoury cornetti or white pizza stuffed with zucchini flowers, mozerella, and anchovies. Visit in the afternoon for a gelato, or if the weather’s cold, a hot chocolate. We’ve tried them all and cannot get enough.
Their hot chocolate is creamy yet not too dense (which can be a common problem with Italian hot chocolate), and make sure to try it with whipped cream. The gelati are also available in miniature versions.
There’s a second Ciampini on Via della Fontanella di Borghese.
